Chicken Parmesan is the ultimate comfort food with a gourmet twist! Juicy chicken breasts are breaded and fried to golden perfection, then topped with rich marinara sauce and melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. It’s a delicious, cheesy delight that’s sure to satisfy any craving!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2-inch thickness. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, one with 2 beaten eggs, and one with 1 cup of seasoned breadcrumbs mixed with 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, dip in the beaten eggs, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  3. Heat 1/4 cup of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. Transfer the chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  4. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Place the fried chicken breasts on top of the sauce. Spoon an additional 1 cup of marinara sauce over the chicken, then sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through. For an extra golden top, switch the oven to broil for the last 2 minutes of baking.
  6. Garnish the Chicken Parmesan with fresh basil leaves. Serve hot over a bed of spaghetti or with a side of garlic bread and a fresh salad for a complete meal.
