Chicken Piccata is a bright and tangy dish that brings a burst of flavor with every bite! Tender chicken breasts are sautéed to perfection and smothered in a lemony butter sauce with capers. It’s a light and refreshing dish that’s as easy to make as it is delicious!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Place 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound them to about 1/2-inch thickness. Season both sides with salt and pepper. Dredge the chicken lightly in 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in 1/2 cup of chicken broth and 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3 minutes, or until the sauce is slightly reduced.
  4. Stir in 2 tablespoons of capers and 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for an additional 2 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Plate the chicken breasts and pour the remaining sauce over the top. Garnish with extra fresh parsley and lemon slices if desired. Serve hot with a side of pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
