Chicken Teriyaki is a savory-sweet dish that brings together juicy chicken, a glossy glaze, and a hint of ginger and garlic. This crowd-pleaser is perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion. It’s so tasty, it’ll have you saying, "Arigato, Chef!"

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1/4 cup of mirin, 1/4 cup of sake, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 2 cloves of garlic (minced), and 1 tablespoon of grated ginger. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1.5 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces) and cook for about 5-6 minutes, or until the chicken is browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, pour in the teriyaki sauce mixture. Bring it to a simmer over medium heat and cook for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced slightly and thickened.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat it evenly in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the chicken is heated through and the sauce is glossy.
  5. Serve the Chicken Teriyaki hot, garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Pair it with steamed white rice and a side of sautéed vegetables for a complete meal that’s sure to impress!
