Who needs a fancy oven when you can make a delicious, crispy cheese pizza right on your stovetop? This Frying Pan Cheese Pizza is quick, easy, and oh-so-cheesy. With a golden, bubbly crust and perfectly melted mozzarella, this pizza is a one-pan wonder that’s ready in minutes!
Ingredients
Directions
- Start with a ball of prepared pizza dough (about 8 ounces). On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a circle that’s roughly the size of your frying pan, about 10 inches in diameter. If the dough shrinks back, let it rest for a few minutes and try again.
- Heat a large, non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and swirl to coat the pan evenly. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully lay the dough in the pan.
- Cook the dough for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crisp. Use a spatula to lift the edge and check. Once the bottom is golden, flip the dough over.
- Spread 1/4 cup of tomato sauce evenly over the cooked side of the dough. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, covering it evenly. If you like, add a pinch of dried oregano or fresh basil leaves for extra flavor.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low. Cover the pan with a lid to trap the heat and cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. Check occasionally to ensure the bottom of the crust doesn’t burn.
- Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, remove the pan from the heat. Carefully slide the pizza onto a cutting board. Let it cool for a minute or two before slicing. Serve hot, and enjoy your delicious frying pan cheese pizza!
