Get ready to riot in the best way possible! This Whiskey Rebellion Burger brings a sweet and smoky flavor with a kick of whiskey sauce, crispy onions, and melted cheese. It's the burger you'll want to rebel for—juicy, flavorful, and downright irresistible!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine 1/2 cup of whiskey, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Set aside to cool.
  2. Slice one large onion into thin rings. Soak them in buttermilk for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, mix 1 cup of flour, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dredge the soaked onion rings in the flour mixture and fry until golden brown and crispy. Set on paper towels to drain.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 lb of ground beef, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Form the mixture into four patties. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
  4. Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt. Spread a generous amount of the whiskey sauce on the bottom bun, add the burger patty with melted cheese, top with crispy onion strings, and finish with the top bun.
  5. Serve the burgers immediately with your favorite side of fries or a fresh salad. Don’t forget to have some napkins on hand—these babies are juicy!
